About Western Blot Hub

Maintainer

Western Blot Hub is maintained by T. H. Zhang (GitHub: thzhangbio), who has biomedical research training and works on laboratory-related products, scientific content and software. The handbook is updated from product documentation, methods literature and experimental observations described in those sources.

What this site covers

  • Check the target, sample, expected molecular weight, controls and detection range before loading.
  • Follow each experimental step with its starting conditions, checks and criteria for adjustment.
  • Use whole-blot patterns to decide which experimental step to check first while limiting simultaneous changes.
  • Find common recipes, calculators and the original sources behind important recommendations.

Scope and limitations

  • A general workflow does not replace product instructions for a specific antibody, gel, membrane, transfer device or imager.
  • Recommended parameters are starting points and should be checked for the target, sample type, antibody and equipment in use.
  • Not every condition has been replicated across multiple independent laboratories; important conclusions require appropriate controls and source data.
  • The site is for research education. It does not provide clinical diagnostic advice or replace institutional safety rules and laboratory SOPs.
